Reactions: Visual Words
Reactions: Visual Words is a collaborative print series and the piece, Enigma, is the starting point. Colleagues and friends from various academic areas (Art, English, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Business, Communications, Education, Music, and Religion) responded to this image by creating art or with poetry and prose. In turn, I interpreted the art/writings and created a new print that incorporated the art/responsive writing into the artwork composition. The techniques used in these works are Intaglio, Relief, and Letterpress printing processes. My focus was to have the written word lead the creative direction of the artwork. The subject matter, tone, mood, and style may be vastly different from print to print. I looked forward to the stretching of my artistic boundaries and test to my creativity.
