This drawing is of my son and I. The pose was inspired by Cassatt's paintings of motherhood. The papercut contains flowers which symbolize femininity and fertility and the tiger wrapped around my child's neck is a superstitious symbol used in Chinese culture to protect infant children from evil spirits.
